Cairns Indigenous Art Fair [18.08.2009]
In its inaugural year Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) will showcase work from dozens of Australia’s leading Indigenous artists, galleries, arts organisations, publishers and Queensland's Indigenous art centres. CIAF is more than just an art fair. It is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and one of the most significant cultural events in Queensland this year.
McCulloch & McCulloch have a stand at the ART FAIR AND EXHIBITION which runs from Friday 21 - Sunday 23 August.
Our stand is located in Tank 3.
Art work from Queensland’s best known and yet-to-be-known artists will be on sale at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair, which brings together leading galleries from across Australia and the Indigenous Art Centres and Hubs of Cape York and the Torres Strait in one vibrant location. Other stall holders include studios, collectives, arts organisations and book and magazine publishers.
The Art Fair is complemented by a selected Exhibition with a focus on revealing the ‘treasures and surprises’ of art work from Cape York, the Torres Strait, Cairns and surrounds and wider Queensland. Several art works in the Art Fair and Exhibition have been commissioned for Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
